Desktop VR Display

This is an amazing idea. I will be looking forward to see if any developers come out with a game implementing this idea.

Lack of Updates

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 @ 10:41pm

I figure it is about time to post the reason for my lack of updates. If you wish to know further detail you may need to ask me personally since I do not wish to publicize too many details over the internet.

About three weeks ago I was involved in a Bike vs. Car accident. Hopefully, this will explain why you’ve seen very few posts over the past couple of weeks. The accident could have ended up a lot worse according to witness reports but the important thing is I’m alive and I’m grateful for that.

Just keep me in your prayers, as that’s the best you can do for now. Thanks!

Wish List

Monday, November 5th, 2007 @ 1:26pm

This probably won’t interest most of you, but apparently I’ve been asked to put together a wish list for Christmas this year for family, so here goes. Most of you can probably ignore this.

  • Seinfeld (any season other than 1&2, 4)
  • Monk (Season 5)
  • Porco Rosso (DVD)
  • Wii Points Card
  • Khaki Pants (32 waist, 32 length)
  • Gift Cards (BestBuy, Amazon.com, NewEgg.com)
  • SNES Controller (I know that’s a random request, but I’m having a hard time finding one for a personal project of mine. Good place to look would be pawnshops/craigslist/ebay. The item in reference is this. I’m looking for the PAL (Europe/Japan/Australia) controller in particular, but a US controller would suffice if the former could not be found.)
  • Twizzlers
  • Masking Tape
  • A charity donation made to Child’s Play (see childsplaycharity.org for more details)

Do Not Want List
CD-RW/DVD-RW (I have enough of these, I do not need any more)

I may append to this list if I think of other things.

Bike Updates

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 @ 3:53pm

Well, I’ve completed my first month of biking to work. I have been shooting for my 3 days a week goal, although I’m going to fall a little short for October. I did not get any biking done the second week of October due to sickness, but have met my goal at least every other week in the month. So with 12 trips out of 23 I’m doing okay.

Now, it’s been steadily getting colder this month, which hasn’t been so bad, except for some mornings and days when it’s rained. But, you’ve got to take the good with the bad… More updates in the future once November is complete!

Bouncy Balls

A very interesting commercial with a LOT of bouncy balls. I would hate to have to clean all of those up.

Sadly, I can relate to a lot of this…

New Beginnings

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007 @ 12:37am

This site has been my “personal” site for nearly two years now. I’ve been posting random ramblings, or just cool stuff I find as I surf around the net. I’ve also used this site as a platform to do some freelance stuff.

However, I feel I’ve come to the point where I need to split things off. It is time to split work from play. So I introduce to you my newest venture, scurker.com. Right now it’s not much, but I’m working on setting things up on the backend. Don’t worry, my blog here will still remain the same, and you can still read about the randomness which I call my life, but most of my projects, code, and other freelance related things will move to scurker.com. Expect to see a few changes here and there in the upcoming weeks.

Weekend Update

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007 @ 12:28am

So my “goal” to bike to work is fairly reasonable. I did a test run this past Saturday to estimate my time, and it took me roughly 6 minutes to ride the 1.02 miles to work (not hitting any traffic or lights). I also ordered a new backpack to accommodate anything I’ll need (i.e. clothes, lunch) since my old one was falling apart. Once that comes in, I’ll be ready to go!

My CPU fan finally came back in today. After a couple of hours of fooling around with various hardware components my new PC is up and running, and quite fast. I’m enjoying the new hardware upgrade and can’t wait to try out something that will push it to its limits.
