Knock It Off!

In other news, I beat my brother (again) in golf this time by 10 strokes. He has yet to beat me in a game of golf… no, putt-putt doesn’t count either. Anyways, I went over to my grandparent’s house in Georgia and played a round of golf with my Uncle Kevin, my cousin Ryan and of course, my brother. Always nice to get away from home and do something like that.

Xbox 360

So Microsoft released their console this past Tuesday. Big fat hairy deal. Or so I thought. In order to increase the “demand” and create a big buzz surrounding the release they decided to limit the amount of consoles they would actually sell, so there would be a huge demand and low supply.

Well it worked. But interestingly enough, Microsoft is seamingly losing on a lot of profits because of this move. And looking at ebay auctions like this it makes me wish I had stood 20 hours in line to buy one just so I could resell on ebay.

Due To Popular Demand…

You can now comment on the meaningless dribble that I might happen to post here. Keep in mind that it’s still in the early working stages and some pages may not function correctly or look astectically pleasing, but I’m working on it!

You’ll have to register if you want to post, just so I can keep track of things. If you don’t want to register, well tough cookies.

War Eagle, Hey!

Holes

Thursday, November 17th, 2005 @ 10:29pm

I haven’t quite figured out the point of this one. Apparently someone made the executive decision at Samford to dig a bunch of holes in the ground, or take out parts of sidewalks and then not fill them up/put concrete back in them so there are many paths that have been blocked off for at least a week. It’s really annoying when you have to walk all the way around these areas, which there are quite a few of. Oh well, maybe they’ll be done after Thanksgiving break…

Updates!

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005 @ 10:11pm

Yes, I’ve finally made some key changes to my blog. I was having issues with the code for a while but I wasn’t able to solve them until tonight. So I actually now have a logo and text in the menu! Sorry, but nothing will be there for a little while until I actually find time to do it, but I’ll let you know when that actually happens.

Oh yeah, the tables look funky in IE. Well, too bad. I don’t really feel like debugging my code at the moment to figure out what the real issue is, so go get a real browser. You know, like Firefox! You won’t regret it.

Thanksgiving? Fall? What?

Wednesday, November 16th, 2005 @ 3:02pm

Well, so it seems to happen every year at this time. We skip Thanksgiving and fall. At least that seems to be the case in Alabama. There is no fall here, we skip straight from summer to winter bypassing any notion of fall that might exist. Earlier this week it was in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Now it’s down to the 50s and getting into a low somewhere around 20 tonight. Gotta love Alabama weather.

And we seem to have skipped thanksgiving as well. As soon as October and halloween is over, BOOM, it’s automatically Christmas. Thanksgiving is no longer a holiday that we apparently pay attention to at least not in the advertisement world. Oh well, at least they don’t skip fall break. I think that would make us students even more insane this time of year.

But there’s at least one less thing on my list of concerns to be concerned about. Band is over, sort of. I enjoyed band while we were doing it but it was taking up a lot of time and now that we played our last game this past Saturday I can say it’s over with for now. We still have a few pep-band things to do for a few of the basketball games and a student conducted concert in a couple of weeks but at least the workload won’t be as much as it was before. Stay tuned for future updates!

Free Time? What’s That?

Sunday, November 6th, 2005 @ 11:21pm

That has pretty much been the “theme” of my life for the past couple of weeks, which you may have noticed if you kept up with reading the things I have wrote here. Even for the past week, I really haven’t had time to post anything although it hasn’t really been anything special since I’ve been spending nearly 95% of my time at school.

Anyway, to sum it up I basically spent most of my Saturday studying. How fun is that? Nearly 3 hours doing discrete structures homework; which I have a feeling the test this Friday won’t go too well for and the rest of the day from basically 7pm-12pm studying Japanese with David Thorton and Dana Springall. Mind you we were goofing off for some of the time we still got some quality Nihonjin time in, in preperation for the test we have in class on Tuesday.

Speaking of tests? What’s up with that? Nearly every test this semester has been lined up with a bunch of tests all in the same week. I imagine my professors all have a meeting at the beginning of the year and plan out their tests to occur all in the same week so I won’t have time to do anything else.

But yeah, I’m basically trying to study for as much as I can for 3 tests, 1 of which I’m not really worried about (programming class). The others might pose problems, but we’ll see how that goes.

But as of right now, I’m busy psuedo-studying in the library at 11:15pm on a Sunday. Trying to copy all my music for the listening exam we have in music lit on tuesday. And I just saw the most interesting thing… a girl, without pants, in the library. Yes, you heard me right. She was lacking pants. In other news, the 6th CD I need for my music lit exam is missing. Joy.
